May 15 @ 8:30 pm – 10:30 pm
Ian Whitty and Flor Rahilly of Ian Whitty & The Exchange will perform at Sea Church for the first time to support the release of the band’s new single ‘The Mill Takes’. The song is a raucous anthem of poetic, industrial dissent, which was inspired by the former mill where Ian now lives.
Recorded and mixed by Brian Casey in Wavefield Studios West Cork and mastered by Ruairi O’Flaherty at Nomograph Mastering in LA. The band’s music has always shifted comfortably from quiet introspection to songs of clamour and celebration and is characterised by Whitty’s sharp storytelling. As a duo Ian and Flor have shown themselves to be equally adept at playing everything from tiny venues to much bigger theatres and festivals. ‘Ian Whitty has the extraordinary ability of writing poignant lyrics wherein everyone can get a glimpse of themselves’.
Jason O’Driscoll began gigging in the college scene in Cork in the 90s. He was a member of indie band The Orange Fettishes.
