The Turfmen are an Irish Folk bank based in Cork City made up of Shane Lawless, Garrett O’Hanlon, Jack Lynch and Paul Linehan. Rooted in Irish trad music, folk and storytelling, their sound is inspired by legendary artists such as Christy Moore, The Clancy Brothers, The Pogues and many more. Blending rich melodies, driving rhythms and heartfelt narratives, The Turfmen create music that feels both timeless and fresh. Their songs draw from the world around them, capturing their lives while echoing tales and traditions of the past.
Their debut singles called The Seven Woods of Coole and Know Better being released in February marks an exciting new chapter for the band. Their brand new album called Daracha Bana will also be released this summer. With it’s release, The Turfmen are gearing up for a 2026 tour and ready to bring their music to audiences across Ireland and Beyond.
